Once again it was hard to close the box this week. It is great to have such an abundance of food from the garden to share. We hope you are hungry and that you are ready to do some serious vegetable eating this week.

Here is a recipe found and tried and recommended by our member Stephanie Carpenter who comes out to the farm on Fridays to help us harvest. Thanks Stephanie!
Seth’s Green Beans, Bacon, and Gorgonzola with Tomatoes
Here is a basic recipe in which I will not give specific amounts. You will need:
Salt and Pepper to Taste
First wash and snap the ends off the beans and then snap them in half. Then blanch the beans for 5 minutes and drain them in a colander. Cut up bacon and start cooking it in a skillet on medium high. Add chopped onion. When onions and bacon are mostly done add the drained beans. Continue sauteing the beans until they are slightly browned. Add salt and pepper to taste. Take this mixture off the stove and put in a bowl. Add crumbled Gorgonzola and freshly chopped tomatoes to finish. Toss and enjoy.
We had a farm dinner the other night and a friend brought this delicious polenta pie. It is definitely worth a try.
